President’s Message for January 2012

 Dear Members-

I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season and are ready for the New Year. I hope that it brings only good things to all of you.

If you missed our December meeting you missed one of the best times we have had at a meeting. We met some nice people from Enterprise Rent A Car, who have promised to continue to attend our meetings. The food was delicious and our room was decorated for the holidays. Ginny Spencer collected her annual great gifts for the kids at the Klingberg Family Center. Jeffrey Thomas had almost everyone on the floor dancing and singing. Those of us who were not dancing found ourselves personally serenaded by Jeffrey. All in all it was a great meeting and I would like to thank our VP Kristen St. John for putting it all together.

In the midst of our post dinner dancing, we had a visit from Jennifer Ksiazek from the Go Red for Women branch of the American Heart Association. This organization offers many useful tools and ideas for all of us to keep our hearts healthy, We plan to work with Jennifer to get HAIW involved with the various events that Go Red for Women sponsors throughout the year. The first event is the National Wear Red Day on February 3. I would encourage you all to visit their website at goredforwomen.org for more information. Please see Donna Daniolos of our Safety Committee or Sandi Tilley from Public Relations to get involved in HAIW’s part of this campaign.

As we enter into 2012 I would like all of you as members to add HAIW to your list of New Year’s Resolutions. Please resolve to attend more dinner meetings and to help with at least one committee or event. I’m sure you will find this will be one of your easiest and most enjoyable resolutions to keep. I look forward to seeing you all in January.
